  1. Step 1 of 6

    The door

19 is the minimum age at the door: Ontario's Gaming Control Act, 1992, keeps anyone younger out of a casino. At Shorelines Casino Peterborough the code of conduct sets a short rule, "We ID under 30". A guest who looks younger than 30 shows a government-issued photo ID, the original and physical card, and staff can request one more document. Designated areas are the only place to smoke or vape, and cannabis is banned across the whole property.

The casino on Fisher Drive offers complimentary parking. Those without a car can ride Route 5 (The Parkway) on Peterborough Transit, which runs from the downtown terminal to Fleming College and stops at Fisher at Shorelines Casino. Service operates on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays and holidays.

    The card

12 Ontario destinations share one membership: Great Canadian Rewards, the operator's player card, covers Shorelines Casino Peterborough and Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs among them. What a member earns at any of the 12 is pooled for use at all of them. Membership has no charge. You can enrol through the operator's online form or at Guest Services at any Great Canadian Rewards destination in Ontario. Members must be 19 or older; people who are self-excluded or trespassed are not eligible.

At a slot machine, the member inserts the card. How it works at the live tables in Peterborough is not published. Neither are earning rates, point values or tier rules. The card check at the top applies this to your four answers.

    Tables by the hour

12 live table games deal at Shorelines Casino Peterborough. We counted seven games on the list: Three Card Poker, Mississippi Stud, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Roulette, Mini Squeeze Baccarat, Free Bet Blackjack and Blackjack. Live tables deal 4 pm to midnight Monday through Thursday, noon to 2 am Friday and Saturday, and noon to midnight Sunday. There is no poker room: the poker-style games are house-banked, played against the dealer.

$5 novelty poker and $15 blackjack sit at the low-limit tables, and those minimums move with the day's business. They deal Wednesday and Thursday from 4 pm to midnight, Friday and Saturday from noon to 2 am, and Sunday from noon to midnight. Monday and Tuesday have none. Slot machines and e-tables together number more than 500. Floor opening hours are not published, and no holiday hours are posted at present.

    Food

Two places serve food at Shorelines Casino Peterborough. A restaurant and bar, its name not published, offers modern casual dishes and a fully licensed bar. The Buffet runs themed menus and needs no reservation. Great Canadian Rewards members get discounts there, in amounts the casino does not publish.

Comp Dollars on the card pay at both, and at the Player's Lounge & Café at Kawartha Downs. No hours or prices are published for either one on Fisher Drive. Questions about either go to the casino at 1-833-678-0880.

    Kawartha Downs

7.7 km in a straight line separate the Fisher Drive casino from Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs. The address is 1382 County Road 28, Fraserville. It has 150 slot machines and no table games. The slots run every day, all year, from 10 am until midnight; parking is complimentary.

The same Great Canadian Rewards card works here, and Comp Dollars are accepted. The Player's Lounge & Café, 19+, sits on the slots floor. Its hours are 10 am to 9 pm Monday to Thursday and Sunday, and 10 am to 10 pm Friday and Saturday. Live harness racing runs as a summer season, May to September, and admission costs nothing. Race dates are posted on kawarthadowns.com.

    The limit

Two numbers get set at home: the money for the visit and the time it may last. The limit card below turns them into a pace per hour and a clock time to stop. Once either number runs out, the visit ends.

My PlayBreak, OLG's self-exclusion programme, bars entry to every Ontario casino for 3 or 6 months, or 1 to 5 years. A break cannot be shortened. To enrol, call the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098, or ask casino staff or a PlaySmart Centre coordinator.

Online

Ontario's online market

Shorelines Casino Peterborough is a land-based casino. Since April 4, 2022, a private online casino may serve Ontario only if the AGCO, the regulator, has registered it. It also needs an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, which keeps the public directory of those sites at igamingontario.ca. Players must be 19+ and physically inside Ontario. OLG.ca is the online casino of the Ontario government, run by OLG, for people 19+ in Ontario.

The Ad links on this guide's home page lead to a single private online casino partner. It is not OLG.ca and has no tie to the casino on Fisher Drive, its operator or Kawartha Downs. The partner pays the guide a commission and may change over time. Inner pages carry no paid links.
